It's about time we start being more responsible with our fuel usage. We need to get away from these long commutes and gas guzzling SUV's.

Oh, I think the love affair will continue, after a short respite to re-engineer a new propulsion system. The economy will adapt. Notice how the story indicates where market forces made change happen where environmentalism couldn't.
