Alright they finally did it, a coffin on wheels. This thing looks very safe. Sorry I will stick with my SUV. Suburban.... full size.....

This is good for the little people, but when the elite gives up there SUV's, jets, limo's, and their 20 room homes ( 2 people living in it of course). Then maybe I will look at something different.

I certainly wouldn't want to be in one when your full-sized SUV crashed into it.

Because he's talking on his cell phone while watching his GPS nav system......

It's made by Mercedes... they do remarkably well in crash tests because of a rigid endoskeleton.

I don't believe it is one size fits all I will have to stick with my Ram dodge that is

They're actually quite good on space... I have a friend who's 6' tall, about 200-250lbs, and he just bought one, and adores it.

On the other hand, at 6'3", I find that it's just a little bit cramped in terms of leg-room... but not enough to deter me from buying one.

It's a pedal car, no, it's a pram (baby- buggy), no, it's a super grocery cart. What happened to the briliant tutonic engineers and designers of automobiles of the 30's, 40's and 50's?

avatar

Uhhh, that's Teutonic, and they're still brilliant, they just make better, more realistic cars for the present and future, like Smart cars...

avatar

Yup, cars that save the enviroment by doubling as a coffin.

They'd be a lot more safe if so many people weren't driving two and three ton monstrosities to the supermarket.

My fiance has a smart car. He uses it for commuting b/c it is easy to park. I like it. Believe it or not, it is roomy inside . He picked me up from the airport with it and I was furious because I had so much luggage, but it all fit. Amazing!

I don't think so, I'd rather walk.

I think my friend's Civic is small.

I'll keep my Bonneville for now, probably drive the upcoming Pontaic G8 or some other large sedan (like Charger or Maxima) when my baby gets too old

I placed a refundable deposit on one early this year.

That cool kit that you get with the deposit will sell for well over the $100 you paid in two years. Someone buying the first release model used will want to buy it.

avatar
Reply

Uh oh! I received no 'kit' ... only confirmation of my deposit. Did I do something wrong? I'm in the US.

Its just a handbag to carry the car in when your not playing with it :)

A little, only there are more Smarts in Frankfurt, and they get way better mileage than the 25 mpg for a mini.

BMW is still the best!

HAHA! The car from the wii commercials!

Couple things wrong with this picture. The average height of Americans have been increasing over the years, Were's the leg room? I'm 6'3" and I doubt that there will be room for luggage or groceries after I put the seat back.

Go to the nearest restaurant and check out all the overwieght people. This THING will need side extenders so they can close the doors and a hemi to get it moving.

Finally, I'd hate to get rearended in one, your head will be hitting the front end of the car that hit you. nevermind read rest standards.

On the other hand it the US can produce this economically we may be able to make some money on it by SENDING IT TO CHINA!!! They should love it.

I won't purchase this car.

I'll keep my old Chevy with me.

It's cute 'nuff said.

Like a smart American, I'll buy one and keep it in the trunk compartment of my Hummer.

That way I can still intimidate folks with my brawny primary vehicle and once I get on the outskirts of town, I'll pull out the Smart and park right in front of my office with no worries.

WE were in Italy last summer for vacation. Saw these everywhere.

Once the americans start to pay $5 or more per gallon like they do in europe this car will take off big. Even today most look on those with the big SUV's getting 10-15 mpg to drive a single person around the city as crazy.

Look at the average size of cars on the road today and compare them with 40 years ago. Much smaller, much more fuel efficient, and much safer.

If this car has the same 3 levels of air bags I currently have in my mercedes SLK then it will not be that much of a safety issue for the passengers. I do bet like many of the sub compacts today the inside room is not fully understood until you get inside. Looks can fool and often do today.
